WTW wins Magpile’s Best New Magazine of 2013 Award
We are pleased to announce that Magpile’s panel of judges has selected WTW from a list of reader-nominated magazines as the best magazine launched during 2013.
The death of the magazine genre has been announced many times over, but Magpile, ‘an online reference to the world of magazines and a community for the people who read them’, proves that Works That Work is far from the only publication with a lively following. We are pleased to announce that Magpile’s panel of judges has selected WTW from a list of reader-nominated magazines as the best magazine launched during 2013.
‘There are lots of magazines out there celebrating creativity and creatives, but Works That Work is one of the few that actually surprises,’ wrote judge Kati Kraus, co-founder of magazine symposium Tinta de la Casa. ‘Moreover, I like its focus on stories—long stories!—and things rather than people, plus of course its multi-platform approach.’
William van Giessen, founder/curator of Facing Pages wrote: ‘How I love the work of Peter Biľak and his team. Everything he makes is well thought out. […] Also, it’s fascinating how the machine behind the magazine works; financially and distribution-wise he’s made some interesting moves.’
Many thanks to the judges for their kind words, to any of you readers who nominated us, and to all of you in the Works That Work community who make this a publication worth celebrating.
